Acqua Pazza is one of the frontrunners in the CBD's rekindled love affair with classic Italian cuisine. A host of big names now call Sydney's business district home, none bigger than former Intermezzo chef Mario Percuoco.
A fifth generation restaurateur Percuoco plays chef, host and manager with equal alacrity. This latest venture brings all of those years of family experience and expertise together seamlessly. The decor, like the menu, walks the fine line of blending timeless elegance with contemporary touches. Stark white marble dominates the dining room, playing off the subtle contrast of sombre tones to create that feel of effortless elegance.
The menu shows similar balance, with a classic napolitana-style mussel and vongole soup sitting comfortably alongside a pesce al'acqua pazza, a little-known (but very tasty) regional dish from which this fine diner takes its name.
