Achelya

Achelya is a one-size-fits-all mixture of Turkish restaurant and Mediterranean eatery. In keeping with the bright and breezy Docklands location, the space is open and modern, with Turkish touches coming in the form of a gyrating belly dancer and the odd hookah pipe sighting. The menu contains plenty of familiar Turkish cuisine, from traditional dips to tabouli and kebabs. However, the extensive menu also extends to pizzas, burgers and even seafood paella.

Very warm and friendly service
As the owner of a restaurant myself, I am very particular about various aspects of service and hygiene and as such find it difficult to find restaurants that can satisfy my needs whilst being able to provide high quality food, it is for this reason that I am always delighted with the friendliness of the staff at Achelya as well as the general cleanliness they maintain.
I have visited this restaurant many times and have become quite addicted to the seafood that they serve, with the battered fish being a personal favourite. They also do a nice banquet on weekends with traditional turkish type dishes that are sure to fill and I would personally recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to try traditional Turkish cuisine around the docklands precinct.

Over-priced and not keen on serving customers
Being visitors from interstate, we decided to go to Achelya's whilst at Docklands. We paid $36 for 3 lipton teas (not brewed Turkish tea) and 1 x hookah. It took them a long time to serve us and when they did, they took a longer while to get this order out to us. It seeemed as though the staff were disinterested in serving us.

Bad Father's Day lunch
It was embarrasing to take my father and father in law to this restaurant. We had been numerous times before and all were very pleaseant. This time the 80% of the meals served were just edible (there were 12 people at this lunch).
