Abla's

Choose from the extensive menu of homestyle Middle Eastern cuisine or try the banquet offered on Friday and Saturday, then sit back and enjoy the understated setting and family service. Abla's has been going strong since 1979 and if you are not already a regular, it is a great place for you to expand your knowledge of Lebanese food, with kibbeh nayeh (raw, spiced ground lamb), homemade lemonade with rosewater or lubyee (green beans in spicy tomato). Abla Amad and her daughters run the terrace restaurant and they use only the freshest ingredients to do justice to some classic dishes.

she is still the queen!
The food was mouthwatering. I have been here many times and still go back. I am a vegetarian and my friends are meat eaters, we found the fresh and very good. The service was excellent and atmosphere was warm but the down side it was very busy and bit noisy. The table next to us were happy with food too. I have been to many Lebanese restaurants their food was alright but nothing beat Abla's.

So good we ate far more than we needed to!
We ordered the banquet, and we weren't disappointed. Favourites of the 13 courses included the smoky baba ghanoush, ladies’ fingers (cigar-shaped pastries filled with minced lamb and pine nuts), fresh tabbouleh, silvebeet rolls, Loubyeh (green beans in a tomato sauce), lahem mishwee (lamb kebabs) and of course the Turkish delight and Baklawa. It all tasted amazing, and we were struggling to fit it all in after about the 10th course, but Abla came and personally encouraged us to keep going as the best was yet to come!
