Since it burst onto the Sydney dining scene in a blaze of flavour in 1990, putting all the same-o vindaloo merchants to shame, Ahbi's has been a foodie destination despite its further-afield location of North Strathfield. The excellent south Indian menu refrains from trotting out lists of madras and butter chicken, offering truly great dishes such as alu tikki potato patties with chickpea masala and sweet and sour tamarind sauce; and a sweet, tender goat curry.
