Run and largely owned by the Brine boys, waterfront eatery A Touch of Salt has more than just views going for it, with a menu of traditional treats reminiscent of childhood days around the dinner table. Think pork cutlets, braised lamb medallions and tender duck, but with a modern twist that would put mum's best efforts to shame.
The menu changes every six months as chef Michael Brine experiments with new tastes. Touches of Asian flavours begin to creep in (think crispy rabbit wontons) alongside modern dishes such as seared scallops with a shin of beef lasagne; or chicken with pumpkin tart, seared zucchini, feta, pine nuts and sage.
A relatively new addition to the overall dining experience is the Degus Station room - a private dining area in the restaurant where guests can feast until their stomachs are straining. Each of the six to eight courses is paired with a matching wine, chosen from a list of 100 drops.
