Secretively secluded underground on Barrack Street, 43 Below is a relaxing retreat from the frenzied pace of city life. Originally built in the 1920s at a diggers' bar, this recently modernised venue now serves as a cocktail hub, counter meal corner, and languorous lounge. Much more than just pub meals, 43 Below's mouth-watering Modern Australian mains include Tender Ridge scotch fillet; chicken, leek and bacon pot pie; and sweet potato gnocchi. The hot caramel sundae should do more than satisfy city slickers in need of a sweet fix.
