Dining at 2 Fat Indians is a surefire way to forget you ever ate those lukewarm curry takeaways with their accompanying sweaty naan bread. This vibrant and lively restaurant, decked out in fiery orange, will introduce you to a whole new world of Indian food.
Behind the pass, the fast-paced kitchen is staffed with chefs from some of India's best five-star hotels. 2 Fat Indians serves mainly northern Indian dishes, with the exception of the Goan fish curry (obviously from Goa on the west coast of India). Sure, you'll still find the customary korma or vindaloo, but the menu's slightly unusual dishes are more likely to whet your appetite. Check out their signature dish, the tandoori sholay: prawn, fish and chicken cooked in curry masala gravy. You'll also find some unexpected and seemingly incongruous treats on the Indian menu, such as crayfish, oysters and calamari.
A word to the wise however: be sure to book before you head out to eat as this is a notoriously busy restaurant, usually booked solid on Friday and Saturday nights. So if you feel like immersing yourself in a little bit of Indian, without donning your backpack and fisherman's pants and catching a plane to Delhi, pop into 2 Fat Indians.

2 Fat Indians Review
Food - good but not outstanding. $18 - $25 for curries. Small serves but plenty to go round. Poppadums (complimentary), 3 curries, paneer, rice and bread more than enough for 3. Wine list adequate. Service - impeccable. Our young female waitress was attentive but not invasive, remembered what we ordered throughout the night, complemented us on our choices and kept our wine and water topped up. Atmosphere - very busy night but we had a lovely corner booth with plenty of privacy. Overall - a great night out.

Lovely indian!
The service was fantastic, we were looked after so well during the entire evening. The food was great too. Curries were full of flavour and extremely tasty! The atmosphere is modern and cosy!
I will definitely be back to this restaurant!

Great Food but lousy atmosphere and service
This was the the first time I've been there and could easily say that the service is pretty bad.
The food is good, but not the atmosphere. There aren't enough heaters to keep the place warm and definitely the place seems like it is understaffed.
Meals arrived quite late and they missed out on one of the orders. Waiters brought meals that were meant for other tables.
Would definitely recommend the place for a take away, since the food is brilliant. It is well presented and not that oily.

Great fresh-tasting Indian
I've been here twice now and both times I've loved the food. We were die hard fans of Go Gos but I think this place might just be better. The flavours are really fresh and packed full of flavour and its not drowned in oil like some Indian resturants. The service was average on my first visit and on the second it was not too bad. The setting is clean and modern. Ive only been with large groups and it works well, Im not sure if it would be so good as a couple. All in all the food will keep me coming back here, so far my favourite Indian in Perth.
