Super stylish and oh-so-Sydney, this chic restaurant beams with its attractive modern decor and equally enticing modern Australian and international menu. Establishing a casual atmosphere, the dining area, also known as "Cafe 212" or just "212", is lit by vibrant colour-contrasted walls of red, white and grey, illuminated by bright overhead lighting and warm-toned orange lamps. But there's room for natural sunlight to appear through the street windows, good for buffet or a la carte breakfast engagements.
Open most days of the week for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the cafe/restaurant carries the famous flame of being Sydney's first five-star restaurant when it was called Cyranos. In 2009, Israeli chef Itzhak Zoaretz brings a fresh outlook to the 212 cuisine, having cooked for prime ministers, pop stars and even celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay. Menu highlights include the crispy skin salmon with cauliflower and ginger puree, and the shortbread and strawberry tower. Nearby, the cocktail and cabaret bars offer other alluring enjoyments for night owls.
