Murray Vilkelis set up 20, 000 Cows as a way of providing food that has a philosophy. The atmosphere is open and communally minded, where a seat next to a stranger soon becomes sharing lunch with a friend. The cuisine is Middle Eastern and Indian in style and leans on the vegetarian and vegan side of things, though this isn't exclusively vego territory. The pricing is agreeable enough, and is structured on a 'suggested price' basis.

just the best
This restaurant does not pretend to be anything that it isn't. You know what you're going to get - great meals, with fresh food and great value for money. I just can't praise this place enough, it is just the best (we go nearly every week for our fix). Only wish you never closed.

OMG!! how fantastic!
For a completely unique dining experience, read: mismatched china, cutlery, tables, chairs etc. 20,000 cows is without a doubt THE best vego food I have ever eaten. Rusty, you are a genius. We loved everything about your restaurant, the food, the atmosphere, the service. Thank you for such a mind blowing experience. I take all my out of town visitors there for a taste of the North coast. Just freaking fabulous!!!!!
