The Shed Northbridge
There's nothing more Oz than tucking into a bit of kangaroo or crocodile on a platter whilst surrounded by images of the outback and slabs of corrugated iron. The Shed opened in December 2004, and most people are familiar with the venue as a bustling nightspot. Located on busy Aberdeen Street in Northbridge, The Shed was created out of the realisation there weren't any typical Aussie pubs in the area catering to the vast numbers of backpackers camped nearby. The Shed offers a combination of bush food platters -which include the aforementioned crocodile and kangaroo - and contemporary pub grub like wedges and the good, old-fashioned steak sandwich. Other popular choices are the chicken parmigiana, Jack Daniels barbecue ribs and a chef's choice mixed platter of beef satay, gourmet mini pies and battered fish, among other juicy tidbits.
