Dragon Court Darwin
Dragon Court Restaurant has an extensive menu with more than 100 dishes on offer. The restaurant serves traditional Chinese cuisine, but it's a step up from your run-of-the-mill Chinese eatery, with not a plastic takeaway container or a red paper napkin in sight. Instead, the interior is decorated with Chinese artwork and pottery, with two large marble lion statues guarding the front doors. The seating is comfortable and classy with white tablecloths and Asian-inspired crockery.
Dragon Court prides itself on authenticity and uses chefs head-hunted from Hong Kong to prepare such traditional dishes as Cantonese barbecued duck and shark fin soup. There are many adventurous dining options on the menu, along with old favourites. Try the crab meat and asparagus soup - a delicious and unexpected combination; or perhaps the steamed barramundi fillet, infused with ginger and spring onions. For dessert, embrace the tropical climate and try the lychees served with ice cream - the soft sweet flesh of the fruit provides a refreshing taste burst.
