Ahmet's Turkish Restaurant South Bank
On entering Ahmet's, diners are assaulted by a riot of colours. Richly patterned fabrics are draped over all surfaces and drip from the ceiling, evoking images of Ottoman tents housing harems of Turkish concubines. Nothing so deliciously sordid takes place within these walls, but the gyrating belly dancers on Friday and Saturday nights do contribute to the exotic atmosphere. The menu features a bewildering selection of traditional Turkish cuisine (with more meze options than you can throw a falafel at), marinated grilled meats and hearty claypot casseroles.
