Thyme2 Brisbane Brisbane's posh Sofitel is offering guests and visitors to the hotel a fancy new dining alternative. The quirkily named Thyme2 is a light and spacious restaurant, dominated by an open-plan, interactive kitchen. Tandoori ovens sit alongside wok stations and woodfired ovens, sending out a range of internationally inspired food. Chef Patrice Falantin also offers an a la carte menu. Not surprisingly, given the Sofitel's refined, Frenchified tone and Falantin's French roots, there are a fair few Gallic references slipped into the list, as well as Asian creations such as Goan-spiced salmon skewers; and a king prawn pad thai. Dessert is a highlight of any meal here, with Lenotre supplying their world-class cakes, pastries and tarts. more
